Jewellery Care
General Guide to Jewellery Care
Caring for your jewellery ensures that it will last for years to come. A beautiful piece of costume jewellery set with crystals and pearls will need a tender loving care. Whether it is plated with rhodium or rose gold, it is handmade using only the highest quality materials and finest craftsmanship in Ireland.
So if you want you your jewellery to last here is what you should and shouldn’t do, according to experts.
- No banging
Constantly dropping, banging, or catching the piece will weaken it over time. Be especially aware of your fingers when wearing rings, and remove them for any intense activity such as cleaning, gardening, or exercising.
- No cleaning
Habitual cleaning will remove skin oils, dirt, and other surface residues that can stick to jewellery. It is recommended to use a soft cloth or toothbrush, dipped in warm soapy water and gently scrub the metal.
- No Cosmetics
Using cosmetics, perfume, body lotion and tanning products before wearing jewellery advised to be avoided. The metals come in contact with chemicals can cause discolouration and corrosion. Showering or swimming with jewellery on will also cause discolouration.
- Cleaning the right way
Using any liquid jewellery dips to clean jewellery is not advisable as they can loosen and discolour stones. Simply wipe your pieces with a dry piece of cotton. Your jewellery collection will thank you for it.
I hope that you will enjoy wearing and showing off your new Jewellery
